The five thematic areas
Engineers Without Borders is a technical-humanitarian organisation, run by volunteer Danish engineers and subject specialists. We work to create sustainable solutions and improve the living conditions for vulnerable population groups worldwide.
We work from five thematic areas and our projects range widely.
Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH)
Water is essential for sustainable development. Water resources are a source of food production, energy and central to health.
Sustainable Energy
IUG’s projects with sustainable energy contribute to solutions that ensure stable electricity supply and contribute to the development of local communities.
Waste management
IUG’s waste projects contribute to solving some of the world’s waste problems, which stand in the way of community development and the health of the local population.
Information, communication & technology
The network acts as a supplier of ICT solutions to the other thematic networks regarding data collection and processing.
Building & Construction
IUG has great competences in the construction and renovation of health clinics, schools, business hubs, SOS Children’s Villages, etc.
