Climate-smart agriculture and empowerment of women

In 15 communities where women account for up to 70% of agricultural production, the project works to strengthen food security, climate resilience, and women’s economic opportunities through climate-smart agricultural practices. A farmer field school is established as a demonstration and training platform, introducing climate-resilient crops alongside efficient and water-saving irrigation solutions.

The initiative is combined with the installation of a solar energy system that provides renewable power for new food processing equipment, as well as targeted training and organisation of women. Through capacity building and access to technology, the project creates a foundation for new micro-enterprises, increased local value creation, and more stable income opportunities, while strengthening communities’ resilience to climate change.
