In this project, 1–2 specialists will travel to Sierra Leone in collaboration with AfroVate, bringing 3D printers to support local capacity development. The purpose is to strengthen local competencies through a training-of-trainers programme, ensuring that the technology can be operated and further developed locally.
The programme focuses on hands-on training in assembling and using 3D printers, as well as producing new printing material through plastic recycling. The project combines technical training with a final workshop for a broader group, where local actors play a central role.
The initiative promotes local ownership, innovation, and sustainable solutions with potential for further scaling and replication.
