Celebrate World Water Day with EWB-DK and Ramboll

Too much water, too little water, too poor water quality – this is the situation in many developing countries. How can we reduce floods, droughts and water pollution?

Engineers Without Borders Denmark (EWB-DK) in cooperation with Ramboll celebrates the UN World Water Day with an event, where all interested are welcome.

Join and hear about completed and ongoing projects related to

  • Extreme weather disasters
  • Remedial actions
  • Preventive climate change adaption actions
  • Innovation for novel analytical methods for pathogens in water

Presentations will be given with examples from West African countries and will be followed by a panel discussion.

Time: Thursday March 22nd at 5-7:30 pm. From 5 to 5:30 pm there will be arrival and registration.

  • Presentation about the mudslides in Freetown, Sierra Leone by Craig Williams and Marianne Skov, EWB-DK
  • Climate change adaptation initiatives in Senegal by Ramboll
  • Introduction to the initiative aiming at developing method(s) for rapid detection of pathogens to protect from exposure to contaminated water By Gernot J. Abel, HelloScience / Novozymes
  • Final Panel Discussion with representatives from donor organizations, the water industry and NGOs
