Secretary General of Engineers Without Borders resigns

After 12 years in Engineers Without Borders, Secretary General Dorte Lindegaard Madsen has decided to take up a new position outside EWB-DK.

EWB-DK greatly appreciates the great efforts Dorte has made in the organisation over the past twelve eventful years.

During that time, EWB-DK has grown significantly in terms of members, projects and partnerships and has gone from having individual projects in many countries to focusing efforts in two programme countries. Partnerships with NGOs, institutions, authorities and civil society have been strengthened in some of the world's poorest countries, and the strategic partnerships in Denmark with companies and universities have become important.

Dorte is now passing on the baton as new and exciting challenges await in a new position. We wish Dorte all the best in her future endeavours and thank her for the enormous effort and passion she has put into EWB-DK. It has had a major impact on where the organisation is today.

EWB-DK's activities will continue unchanged while a new person is hired to lead the organisation. Likewise, the process will not have any impact on EWB-DK's long-term goals and values. Work is now underway to find the right person to lead EWB-DK, which will probably take a few months.

Dorte will step down from her position at the end of December 2023, but already on 15 December at 2 pm, you can stop by for gløgg and æbleskiver at the secretariat and say goodbye to Dorte.

EWB-DK is now entering a new phase where we are taking the opportunity to assess the organisational setup so that we, together with partners and volunteers, can pursue our strategic goals in the best possible way. We have many exciting projects and collaborations underway and look forward to launching new initiatives and endeavours in the new year.
