For nearly four decades, City of Rest has been one of Sierra Leone’s few specialized rehabilitation centers, providing care for children and young adults struggling with substance abuse, addiction, and related mental health challenges. As drug and alcohol misuse continues to affect communities across the country, the need for safe and supportive treatment environments has never been greater. With limited options within the public healthcare system, City of Rest plays a crucial role in the national effort toward rehabilitation and recovery.
Rebuilding the damaged residential facilities is necessary in order to restore services for female patients. We will provide financial support and technical expertise, particularly in the fields of civil engineering and sustainable construction. The design process will prioritize patient well-being, efficient use of local materials, and long-term functionality.
Once this phase is completed, City of Rest intends to expand further with support from EWB.
