Welcome to the Board, Ole and Frederik!

Our two new board members bring strong experience and a deep commitment to Engineers Without Borders Denmark’s work.

Ole Ekstrand has worked with development projects for 50 years, including 15 years with IUG. With a background in civil engineering and many years of experience as a water engineer and hydrologist in Europe, Asia and Africa, Ole brings solid international project experience to the board.

His vision for IUG’s future is that, through ambitious projects, we can contribute to more sustainable and long-term development opportunities in Africa – while also giving young people in Denmark the opportunity to get involved and strengthen their global understanding.

Frederik Lüchow Pedersen joins the board with a wish to contribute to IUG thriving in the growth we have experienced in recent years – and to help us make the best possible use of our resources. He is part of IUG’s Humanitarian Assistance Technology Lab (HATL), where he works with how technology can support our volunteers and projects.

“My dream for IUG’s future is that we become even better at welcoming both new and experienced volunteers and matching them with the projects they are passionate about,” says Frederik, who works as a Portfolio Manager at BEC Fintech.

We look forward to working with you, Ole and Frederik.

Welcome to the board! 💚
