Minister of Education and Research Visits Mykolaiv: Strengthening Danish-Ukrainian University Partnership

Recently, Minister of Education and Research Christina Egelund visited Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding (NUoS) in Mykolaiv. Accompanying her were Rector Jens Ringsmose from the University of Southern Denmark and Rector Per Michael Johansen from Aalborg University, as well as representatives from Engineers Without Borders Denmark (EWB).

We at EWB Denmark participated as NUoS’ permanent Danish partner—a collaboration we are very proud of! The university is particularly important to us as it serves as our base for operations in the region. At the same time, we are working on establishing a larger and safer shelter for students, with support from A/S D/S Orients Fond.

Education, knowledge sharing, and research may not be the first things that come to mind in a country at war, but they are crucial. They represent a commitment to a better future and help lay the foundation for it.

It is therefore fantastic to witness a strengthened Danish-Ukrainian university partnership!
