Read the summary of the event
Today, 4.5 billion people live without safely managed sanitation and 892 million people still practice open defecation.
The impact of exposure to human faeces on this scale has a devastating impact upon public health, living conditions, nutrition, education and economic productivity across the world. SDG 6 aims to ensure that everyone has a safe toilet and that no-one practises open defecation by 2030.
Come and hear presentations on the state-of-play from an international organization, from universities, consultants and NGOs on their activities related to sanitation in a developing countries. In the final panel discussion we will together bring attention to pro’s and con’s for current activities, aiming in accelerating improvements.
We also invite participants to bring a poster or a product related to World Toilet Day for display in the hall connected to the meeting room – please notify EWB-DK: info@iug.dk.
