Engineers Without Borders - Denmark
As the Danish branch of the humanitarian organisation Engineers Without Borders - International, we work with other humanitarian organizations to provide life-saving assistance like access to safe drinking water, proper sanitation, and emergency shelter to people in disaster-affected areas, using our engineering and technological expertise. Moreover, we provide technological, humanitarian aid to projects that can assist in alleviating human suffering and fight poverty.
EWB-DK was started in 2001 and now count more than 400 members. We are a not-for-profit organisation, financed through membership subscriptions and the contributions of public and private donors. The organization is guided by a Chairman and Board of Trustees elected by the membership and work out of our Copenhagen secretariat consisting of a part-time Secretariat Manager supported by a team of volunteers.
On top of our main office in central Copenhagen, we have student branches in the major Danish cities of Aalborg, Århus, Odense and Copenhagen.
The Secretariat's Work
The day-to-day work at EWB-DK's Secretariat is undertaken by the Secretariat Manager Christina Hennings and 20-25 volunteers working in three core areas:
- the Rapid Response Roster,
- the Project Group, including the Product Development Group,
- and the Student Branches.
Feel free to call Christina (+45 70 27 40 06) on weekdays between 9 am and 3 pm, should you have any questions.
